Changes to the operating parameters of the ozonation process havernoccurred following the installation of an ultrafiltration plant at ClayrnLane Water Treatment Works. The ozone residual has beenrnsignificantly reduced, resulting in substantially lower bromaternformation. Uron pesticides continue to be removed adequately byrnozone, although lower removal of triazines is achieved. It has beenrndetermined that a minimal ozone residual enhances the particle removalrnperformance of downstream processes, although it is not economic tornrun at a higher residual and no additional benefit is obtained by sorndoing.
