STORAGE ASSIGNMENT POLICIES FOR WAREHOUSES WITH MULTIPLE CROSS AISLES

In this paper we investigate the effect of storage assignment policies on order picking efficiency. Specifically, we look at ABC storage policies, where products are assigned to dedicated sections of the order picking area based on their demand frequency. We consider four layout variants, six routing methods and four storage assignment policies and investigate their interaction.
