Conjugated polymers have immense potential for optoelectronic and display applications such as light emitting diodes (LEDs). Molecular weight distribution is a parameter intrinsic to all polymers. Yet it's effect on PLEDs is rarely explored. To investigate this study, we have newly prepared PFTML copolymers with different molecular weight to compare their PL and EL performance. In addition, in order to enhance T_gs of the copolymers, we have also prepared different short-alkyl-chain-bearing PFTML copolymers, PT1ML8-F8, PT8ML8-F8 and PT8ML8-F1 as well as the spiro-annulated analog PT8ML8-Spiro (Figure 59). We study copolymer aggregation tendency with side chain variation that has influence on the solid-state PL and EL.
