Geometrically Guided Morphing of Compatible Triangulations

Morphing has wide practical use in areas such as computer graphics, animation and modeling. Recently, morphing of compatible triangulations has made a great progress, and become prominent in the field. The morphing can be guaranteed intersection-free which had been a difficult problem for a long time. Based on progresses made by previous researchers, we make our further improvement to control the morphing procedure in accordance with the changes of geometric properties between the compatible triangulations. In this paper, we propose to use variations of two geometric properties between triangulations as morphing guide criterions. Through experiments, we verified that our improved approach guided by both criterions gets better morphing result than previous approaches significantly.
