The report documents the South American WN Densification Project discussing such items as camera sites, equipment, timing and observational data reduction, applied constraints, and the analysis of geodetic results. The results from the ACIC solution presented herein are referenced to the October 1970 WN Preliminary Adjustment WGS 1 (North American Datum 1927). The circular standard errors of the horizontal positions of the PC-1000 camera stations, referenced to WGS 1, ranged from 11 to 14 meters while the linear standard error of their geodetic heights ranged from 12 to 14 meters. Since other WN solutions are forthcoming, the geodetic results presented in this report must be considered preliminary. However, the results provide data towards the development of a coherent geodetic control system which is of prime concern to the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH). (Author)
