Urban Stormwater Stressor Sources, Characterization, BMP Treatability

摘要

Urbanization causes increased storm-flow runoff volumes and flowrates that in turn increase pollution in washoff (sheetflow) and erosion. Futhermore, urbanization significantly adds to pollution by increasing anthropagenic sources. The principal treatment mechanisms of conventional wet pond, vegetative swale/buffer strips, and wetlands are sedimentation and filtration. These mechanisms have the capability to remove significant amounts of SS or particulate matter.
