Surface processing of natural stones through A.W.J

This work tackles AWJ surface processing of natural stones. An energetic index has been pointed out by investigating the physical phenomenon that occurs during the surface processing. This index assumes different values from surface processing to cutting by choosing the process parameters, such as pressure, feed rate and mass flow rate. It may be used to choose the value of the process parameters depending on the targeted operation, such as surface processing, incision or cutting, or to foresee the surface texture, once the manufacturing process is planned.
