The Evolution of Persistence in UAV Systems

摘要

This paper will describe the evolving nature of UAV persistence and the effect this has on the choice of UAVs that can satisfy a military need for in the context of capability engineering. In particular, the paper will develop the idea of persistence from its constituent engineering parameters and will then examine the effect of persistence on the selection of a UAV system to carry out surveillance tasks. The paper concludes by suggesting the future UAV system trends that can take advantage of this evolving persistence characteristic.
