摘要

Massive earthquake harms show that torsional response can aggravate the destruction of the structure. Even, it can cause the building to destroy and collapse.Several studies have shown the importance of torsional components in design of structures. Support structure system of air-cooled condenser is a typical steelconcrete vertical hybrid structure, whose stiffness and mass is non-uniform along vertical direction. According to the dynamic character of this kind of structures,decoupling response spectrum method, in which torsional components of ground motion is considered, is presented in this paper. Based on this presented method,lateral-torsional coupled seismic response of support structure system of air-cooled condenser under seismic action is studied.The calculation results show that lateraltorsional coupled seismic design should be considered severely in this kind of vertical hybrid structures.
