Measuring the near-surface moisture condition of concrete slabs and gypsum screeds

In this paper a comparison is made between different methods for establishing the moisture condition or relative humidity of concrete slabs and gypsum screeds as they dry out. A series of slabs and screeds were monitored over time until an equilibrium had been reached between the moisture retained in the slab and the ambient humidity in the environement. The merits and limitations of the various methods are discussed and a correspondence between their relative quantitative readings is established.
