ISO/EC 9126 Quality Characteristics Considering the Application Fields and the Test Phases of Embedded Software

Various hardware and software are put together into an embedded system. When the software is attached to the hardware, unexpected results are often occurred. If the problem happens in a junction of system or performance, the embedded system leads to fatal damages. It has considered only unit test and integration test phase. Therefore, this paper suggests quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 9126 that considering application fields (control, home appliances, terminal and communications equipment) and test phases (unit test, integration test) of embedded software. Through this, we catch the quality characteristics that must achieve phase by phase in priority to each application field and test phase.
