New Attacks on Some Cryptographic Protocols

Cryptographic protocols are used in distributed systems by participating principals to authenticate each other and to distribute secrets such as session keys. Many proposed protocols were later found flawed. This paper presents several undocumented attacks on the ISO Symmetric Key Four Pass Mutual Authentication Protocol, the Carlsen Secret Key Responder Protocol, the Shieh-Yang Authentication Protocol, and the Amended Needham Schroeder Protocol.
