摘要

Singapore has a proud record as the first country in the world to operate a driverless heavyrnsteel wheel to steel rail metro system when it opened the North East Line (NEL) back in June 2003.rnDrawing on the experiences of NEL and Circle Line (CCL), the assignment of Safety Integrityrnrequirements and specifications could be further refined. Therefore, in the derivation of SafetyrnIntegrity requirements for future metro lines, LTA has conducted extensive review on the guidelinesrnand recommendations from the latest CENELEC Technical Report EN50126-2:2007 and studied thernrequirements of other metro lines worldwide. This paper aims to share our experience on how thernSafety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements for new projects have been developed and the challengesrnencountered in customising the CENELEC Technical Report EN50126-2:2007 to the Singapore ofrnenvironment.
