In recent days with the increasing demand of electrical energy the power system is expanding. With the increasing power demand a question arise that whether the existing transmission network is capable to wheel the large amount of power or not. Or what amount of power that can be transferred without any violation of constraints through the transmission network. For this purpose capability of the network must be examined carefully before any transmission of scheduled power to the consumers. The additional amount of power that can be transferred through the network over and above already committed used with out any violation of limits is called Available Transfer Capability (ATC). Thus accurate ATC calculation is very important for the system operators to avoid blackouts. In this paper ATC was calculated using RPF and PTDF-based method considering different conditions of the network i.e. generator outage, line outage etc. DC Power Flow was used and the results were compared with PowerWorldsimulator (PWS).
