In order to increase the shelf life of a rigid plastic package, more and more attention has been devoted to different barrier options. To develop the best package for a specific application, several inter-related factors should be taken in consideration. This paper is presenting an overview on material selection, design, and container construction options for rigid plastic packaging applications.
