ADDITIVE FORMS TO DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN POLYMER STABILIZATION

Cost improvement initiatives drive additive dosing programs at resin manufacturing and compounding operations alike. These improvements encompass fewer preparation steps, less materials to inventory and control, more trouble free feeding, or more accurate feeding, to name a few such programs. A critical factor enabling these continuous improvement efforts is the supply of low dusting additive forms incorporating two or more additives in resin formulations. Combination of additives offering antioxidant activity, processing aid and lubrication or anticorrosive activity in one package allows cost and performance improvements that were not available in single dosing system optimizations. This paper reviews and quantifies key additive dosing improvements, which substantially meet this goal.
