In this paper, we analyze the impact of varying the number of ad hoc n odes s erved a s fixed Internet gateways in multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks. A detailed simulation model with various numbers of IG nodes, radio transmission coverage, and node's mobility degrees is used to study IG node's effects on the routing protocol's performance.
