Two cooling circuits were ozonated using ozone pxoduced of atmospheric oxygen. It could be shown that the ozonation of cooling water with ozone produced of atmosspheric oxygen is possible. The results obtained were very satisfactory. No stripping effects of ozone could be detected in the ambient air around the cooling tower. The corrosion was reduced to almost zero for carbon-steel and brass, without dosage of any corrosion inhibitors. The species of bacteria in those circuits being a substrate and habitat donator to corrosively acting bacteria could be determined.
