A high power characterization system for proper characterization of high power actuator/transformer compositions is reported. Traditional constant voltage measurements were improved by constant current measurement, but these measurement techniques were limited to frequencies in the vicinity of the resonance. Characterization across antiresonance has not been addressed in the literature. The new improved HiPoCII system reported is capable to keep the samples' vibration velocity constant across the full 1st resonance and thereby, able to provide a coupling coefficient at a specific vibration velocity rather than at a specific electric field. This study also revealed an opportunity of using antiresonance, as a preferred driving mode for actuators to decrease power consumption and to suppress heat generation. Characterizations performed at vibration velocities between 0.05 m/sec to 0.3 m/sec are reported.
