Textron Systems (TSC) has many years of experience in developing CO_2 lasers for laser radar transmitters. These systems are repetitively pulsed self-sustained discharge systems with corona preionization. The systems utilize a parallel discharge folded gain medium and transverse flow provided by tangential fans. The square laser aperture varies form 1.5 cm to 6 cm and gain lengths to 2 m.
