Some studies have shown analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of law-level laser therapy. The prospective study concluded 110 patients suffering from acute low back pain caused by lumbar disk syndrome without radiculopathies. The patients were selected by a single blind controlled trial and classified at three groups: first group (A group), (n-40) were treated by a method of local low level laser therapy with following parameters: wavelength 832nm, frequency 4000Hz, at dose 0,1-1J per point; at whole dose ranged from 4 to 7J, second group (B group), (n=40) by a method of low level laser therapy with following parameters: wavelength 832nm, frequency 80, at dose 0,1-1J per point; at whole dose ranged from 4 to 7J. In control group were included also patient with acute low back pain treated with drugs (C group), (n=30). The laser was locally applied to 8 sites on and around the lumbar spine. Patients were treated 3 times weekly, for a total of 10 treatments. Following up subjective difficulties (Scott Huskisson visual analogue scale, lumbar mobility, and tenderness on palpation performed evaluation of effects. Results on the first control examination, after three weeks have shown significantly positive analgesic effects in both but better in first group. We supposed that is in relation with anti-inflammatory action of laser irradiation in choice of modality of first group.
