摘要

A general review and discussion on the recent development of combustion systems and related technologies for spack ignition atuomotive engines is presented. The features of various tpes of combustion systems and technologies developed during recent years are described and discussed including the conventional homogeneous adn stoichiometric combustion system. the stratified charge lean combustion system with different methods of stratifictaion, port fuel injection and directed fuel injection combustion systems. The novelexhaust gas stratified combustion sysem(EGS) is emphasized. It has the advantages of both the conventional homogeneous combustion systme and the existing stratified charge lean combustion systems. It is considered to be the most promising combustion sysem to be able to meet simultaneously the targets of both fuel economy and exhaust emissions.
