Ship Risk of Collision Judging Indices Comparison of Subjective Method and Objective Method

摘要

Up to now there are many ship risk of collision judging indices. The most famous and widely accepted index is DCPA and TCPA. In Japan some researchers brought forward SJ and Bumper Model as risk of collision index in a congested waters. This paper has introduced the calculating methods used for DCPA, TCPA,SJ and Bumper, and analysed their differences when using these indices.After simulating ships movement and comparing these indices' advantages and shortcomings, the paper has concluded that DCPA and TCPA are more useful for ship preventing collision and automation of navigation in open sea while SJ and bumper model are more visual to describe the risk of collision in the congested waters
