摘要

Seismic methods are promising and powerful to spatially and efficiently detect the liquid movement and the change of pore pressure in the subsurface, which has been evidenced in the oil and gas industry. In order to monitor the effects of the injected carbon dioxide in the aquifer, time-lapse 3D seismic survey is being planned and the baseline survey was conducted in 2003 on the ongoing injection experiments in Nagaoka field, Japan. Seismic data will be used to understand the subsurface state and estimate the injected carbon dioxide saturation and the change of pore pressure with evaluating miscellaneous physical constants. A repeat survey is scheduled to be conducted in 2005 after the completion of the injection totally amounting to approx. 10,000 CO2 ton. Our project work scope is briefly introduced here in several subjects.
