It is very important in river environment as well as in hydraulic engineering to investigate the hydrodynamic properties in vegetated canopy rivers, in which velocity distributions are largely changed in not only vertical but also spanwise directions. In particular, it is necessary to reveal such dispersive properties of velocity components, since the velocity dispersion has significant relations with turbulent transport and generation of turbulence due to the vegetation wakes. Therefore, in this study, turbulence measurements were conducted intensively in the vegetated open-channel flows by using two-component laser Doppler anemometer (LDA), and consequently, the turbulent structure and dispersive effects were revealed experimentally.
