For very insect such as tiny wasp Encarsaria Formosa, Weis-Fogh found that the ‘clap- ing’mechanism of their wings is the main cause for their large lift. In this paper, we simulate the motionnumerically and analyze the generation of large lift by the wings with an unsteady incompressibleflow solver based on dynamic hybrid mesh. Both one wing apping and two wings ‘clap and ing’ areconsidered in the Reynolds number range of 8¢128, the difference on ow structures and aerodynamicforces are compared with each other, and then high lift mechanism is analyzed.
