摘要

Neijiang River of Zhenjiang City is connected with the Yangtze River and affected by tidal flow. At present, there exist some problems of water environment in Neijiang River. The water exchanged with the Yangtze River is greatly reduced due to suspended sediment deposition on Neijiang River bed; the ecosystem cannot keep in balance due to poor water quality. Field investigation, theoretical analysis, mathematical model computation and physical model experiment can be conducted to study the techniques of water quality improvement and sediment control. Some kinds of hydraulic projects, such as regulating sluice and desilting trap can be constructed to improve the water environment of Neijiang River. The aim of "863" Plan is that the reduction of sediment entering Neijiang River is 50%, water quality is improved to Ⅲ Class in landscape standard and water transparency increases to more than 50 centimeters. The work will be a design pattern for water environment regulating in cities that are near big estuary.
