According to the hydrologic survey in Aug. to Sep. of 2002 the tidal wave, tidal current, residual current and suspended sediment in Xiangshan Bay are analyzed by a 2D numerical tidal current and concentration diffusion model. In narrow bay the flood velocity is less than ebb velocity, the direction of residual flow is the different vertically, flow points to mouth at the bottom, to the bayhead at surface. The character of flow field determine property of bed evolution and water exchange, the trough is scoured slowly in the western of Xize, and silted slowly in the eastern of Xize, and the water exchange is very slow in headbay.
