THE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION OF THE MING TOMBS PUMPED-STORAGE STATION

The Ming Tombs Pumped-storage Station under construction consists of upper reservoir, waterway system, power house and lower reservoir (existing the Ming Tombs reservoir), and its main purpose is to provide peak power for Beijing-Tianjing-Tangshan Power Network. The Ming Tombs reservoir is a part of the Ming Tombs scenic spot. The construction of the Ming Tombs Pumped-storage Station will bring about some impacts to the tour ecological environment of the Ming Tombs and these impacts will be some very sensitive environmental problems. Therefore, during the design and construction of the Ming Tombs Pumped-storage Station, the restriction of environment protection was fully considered, which is proven successful and has accumulated a wealth of experiences on the environment protection of a hydropower project.
