Biogas Generation From Treatment of Molasses Based Alcohol Distillery Wastewater and its Reuse Using Fixed Film Fixed Bed Reactor System

The distillery spent wash commonly known as Raw Spent Wash (RSW) is one of the most polluting and difficult for treatment and its disposal due to colour and high organic content. In this paper a case study has been presented for Distillery, Samolkot, Andhra Pradesh. Influent characteristics and effluent characteristics from digester and effluent characteristics after secondary aerobic treatment have been given. Detail treatments (anaerobic and aerobic) have been presented. Biogas generations from anaerobic treatment and its use have been presented. The very complicated commissioning of anaerobic digester process has been presented.
