摘要

This paper proposes a robust segmentation algorithm for weld seam images based on mathematical morphology. This algorithm tries to select better structuring element and combine several mathematical morphological operations to enhance the image to be segmented, then implement the segmentation by making use of thresholding and morphological thinning techniques. It has been successfully applied to weld seam recognition in industrial robot.
