AN ESTIMATION EXPERT SYSTEM IN THE DIE AND MOULD MANUFACTURING BUILT UP BY KNOWLEDGE BASED APPROACHES

An estimation expert system in the die and mould manufacturing built up by knowledge based approaches is studied. Generally, estimate-calculating work at the die and mould factory is achieved by rule of thumb of experienced technicians of the die and mould. Therefore, the result of estimate calculation is not only unscientific and non-objectivity, but also a lot of time is spent for estimate calculation. Also, not only claims are sometimes raised for manufacturing of the die and mould, and in transaction, but also reliability in technical aspect is often lost. This study presents an alternative idea to enable to solve such problem points at the present in die and mould factories. Besides, this helps even the unskilled technicians to minimize wrong execution and to get the result of estimate calculation of the expert level. The system has been developed by using Visual BASIC language and SQL data base under Windows environment.
