In order to measure seepage of a large reservoir, Geokon 4675LV type weir-above water lever meter is embedded. Measurement of seepage in April, 2007 was changed sudden-ly, afterwards variation magnitude of measurement became less, and it shows a certain rela-tionship with water level of reservoir. In order to investigate the reason that causes the ab-normal measurement of seepage of dam, firstly the paper makes analysis on measurement in-formation of seepage's pressure of related section, and makes manual comparison on meas-urement; furthermore, on this base, it makes a local inspection on weir-above water level meter and corresponding communication cables. The result of which shows that abnormal measurement of seepage of dam is caused by loosened communication cable of weir-above wa-ter level meter. This reason is rather popular for weir-above water level meter during its in-stallation and embedding process.
