This paper presents the family of Fuzzy Self Adapted Interpolative Controllers (FSAIC), able to identify on-line and to control a wide range of non-linear plants, by analyzing the phase trajectory of the control error. FSAICs are developed by a fuzzy-interpolative methodology (fuzzy implemented by look-up tables). The generic FSAIC is non-linear PID, including an adaptive corrector, embedding expert knowledge about linear PID's adjustment. The fusion of several adaptive correctors corresponding to different regimes (variable, steady, oscillating, unstable, death time, etc.) can produce contradictory strategies demanded by time variable or unknown plants. Fundamental developments of the fuzzy-interpolative methodology in the.expert systems field and nanometer scale technologies are proposed.
