In the present work the modeling of the effect of polymer matrix on the Nonlinear optical response of the incorporated chromophore is performed in the framework of the continuum approach, the anisotropy and deformability of the polarizable polymer matrix being taken into account. The chromophore is considered as embedded in the cavity of the-ellipsoidal shape, the main axes of the cavity ellipsoid being oriented along the main axes of the characteristic ellipsoid of the generalized permittivity tensor depending on the applied electric field as well as on temperature and strain tensor of the medium; the ellipsoids are chosen to be conformal. Thus, the cavity inherits the symmetry of the permittivity tensor of the anisotropic medium in the external field. The electrostatic treatment of this system with the account of standard boundary conditions is performed. The analytical expression for the local electric field experienced by the chromophore in the anisotropic medium is appropriate for modeling the macroscopic response of the polymer.
