THE FRACTAL ANALYSIS OF DARUNTA MILITARY CAMP SATTELITE IMAGES

摘要

In this paper we first introduce an algorithm which associates to an image a map which contains the essential information on the local fractal dimensions. In the second part of the paper we apply this algorithm to analyze military satellite images of the Darunta Military Camp as they are presented on http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/afghanistan/darunta.htm. The analysis reveals the military objectives in the desert landscape which are dificult to discover on the initial satellite image.
