The Design of Cluster-based Group Key Management System in Wireless Networks

Along with the fast development of networking technologies, more and more group-oriented applications and services emerge in wireless networks. Nevertheless, due to the lack of security mechanism, a certain level of security must be achieved before the deployment of group communications. A number of group key management algorithms and architectures have been proposed, however, inefficiency is a bottle-neck of performance to these approaches. In this paper, we design a new group key management approach based on the currently proposed cluster-based group key management scheme, which can significantly improve the efficiency of group key management in wireless networks.
