With the less than graceful aging of some early curtain wall designs and the current "new technology" era, many owners are seeking to reposition their buildings in the marketplace either to attract or maintain attractive corporate tenants, or to create profile for their own company. Recladding of metal and glass curtain walls is therefore becoming a popular approach in repositioning strategies. The challenge is to complete the recladding exercise as quickly and efficiently as possible, while preserving or improving all aspects of the building envelope system. In this paper, recladding options that combine efficient technical solutions with desired aesthetic rejuvenation will be discussed.
