摘要

In this paper, the dynamic analysis of asymmetric shear-wall structures is presented. Due importance is given to the coupled vibration characteristic of the asymmetric buildings, where laterally flexural vibrations in two principal directions are coupled by a warping torsional vibration. Based on the continuum technique and the D'Alembert's principle, the governing equation of natural vibration and the corresponding eigenvalue problem for asymmetric multi-bent shear-wall structures are developed. By employing the Galerkin approach, an approximate method of solution is proposed for predicting natural frequencies and associated mode shapes of the structures in coupled vibration. The results from the proposed analysis for the example structure are in good agreement with those from a comprehensive package FEM programme for analysis of building structures. The proposed analysis provides an efficient and accurate means for dynamic analysis of asymmetric shear wall structures.
