Al2O3 and ZrO2 light ceramic coatings were plasma sprayed on carbon fiber reinforced polyimiderncomposite substrate with plasma-sprayed Al bonding layer. And the bonding strength, thermal cyclingrnresistance, erosion resistance, and thermal-resistance of the coatings were tested. The results showed that,rncoatings with plasma-sprayed Al bonding layer were better than those with arc-sprayed Al or Zn bondingrnlayer. Erosion losses of the sample with Al2O3 coating were less than 1/3 of that of the PMC substrate.rnAl2O3 and ZrO2 coatings could provide effective erosion- and thermal-resistance for the PMC substrate,rnand the thermal-resistance of the ZrO2 coating was better than that of the Al2O3 coating.
