摘要

The recent advancement in modeling of heat flow, stress and microstructure of weld joint has made itrnpossible to develop an integrated thermal-metallurgical-mechanical weld modeling approach for weldingrnprocess and performance simulations. The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate that such integratedrnmodel would be effective in studying how the inhomogeneous microstructure and mechanical propertiesrnacross the weld joint would influence the macroscopic properties and structural performance of the join.rnExamples are given to resistance spot weld, friction stir weld of Al, and the HAZ softening effect in TMCPrnhigh-strength steel weld.
