The design principle of a new series of Si-Mn-Mo alloyed bainitic steels is introduced in the present article, where the compositions-property relationships, the CCT diagrams and the typical TEM photographs are given. It is shown that the CCT diagrams are of the typical bainitic steel C-curve type with molybdenum alloyed, while the dominant as-hot rolled microstructure is of a kind of carbide-free bainite with silicon alloyed. Owe to the outstanding mechanical properties, the steels have been well used in several industrial fields, and more application prospect can also be anticipated.
