The stress-strain curves and elastic recovery at different extensions of PTT, PET and PTT/PET multifilament yarns were measured. And it is found that PTT/PET bicomponent yarns have lower initial modulus and higher breaking strain, and breaking stress of PTT/PET with different cross section is between that of PTT and PET. Lower modulus at various strains and lower breaking stress can be observed in PTT yarns. PET yarn has higher initial modulus and lower breaking strain. Elastic recovery ratios of PTT and PTT/PET are higher than that of PET and the highest recovery ratio is found in PTT at higher extension levels.
