Volumetric distribution of fibers in yarn cross section based on image analysis

摘要

Volumetric distribution of fibers in the yarn cross section was investigated based on image analysis. The comparing experiments on the fiber distribution were performed using traditional ring spun, rotor spun and compact spun yarns. The MATLAB software with picture-handling and data- handling functions was employed to examine a series of yarn sectional slices pictures. The Volumetric distribution of fibers was obtained and the distribution was plotted out as line pictures based on the image analysis. The image analysis provided a new approach to exploring the structures of yarn.
