摘要

In this paper a fractal model for predicting the permeability for yarn was developed based on the fractal theory. The fractal permeability model was found to be a function of the tortuosity fractal dimension, pore area fractal dimension, porosity of yarn and the diameter of fiber. The macroscopic properties of yarn were associated with its microstructure parameters by the model in which the parameters reflected the pore-size distribution and microstructural characteristics. There were no experiential constant in the permeability model, therefore it could be used to better predict the permeability of yarn.
