Investigation on influence factors of cotton wettability

摘要

The effects of the removal of pectins and waxes in cotton fiber on wettability were studied by means of the capillary effect and drop test. The results showed that the content and distribution of cotton waxes should be the key factors affecting cotton wetting property and pectin substances had no direct effect on it. Different treatments for pectin removal would affect the distribution of cotton waxes, thus improving wettability of cotton to a different extent.
