摘要

Corrosion investigations were carried out with Al based alloys (7xxx series) and metal matrix composites (6xxx series) by electrochemical methods in variable electrolytic conditions. The influence of trace additions of Ag and Sc to these materials, on their corrosion behavior have also been determined. The corrosion parameters derived from potentiodynamic polarization studies in variable pH and saline conditions are co-related with the interpretations of supporting studies of metallurgical thermodynamics and surface morphology.
