This paper mainly analyzed the emission stress in the key parts of a gun when it is in lunch process. The analysis used explicit method that the increments are very small to calculate the emission stress of key parts of gun. The influence of the effect of different density of mesh, symmetry, and simplifying to the interfaces is discussed. The recoil displacement from the numerical simulation showed good agreement with it from experiment. The maximum of emission stress in all the key parts is less than the yield stress of the gun steel. This method has reference values in analyzing the dynamic stress in some structures under transient loads such as blast and impact.
