Two Benzyls were removed at wild conditions (at ca. 27℃) from TADBIW (tetraacetyldibenzylhexaazaisowurtzitane) by using inorganic materials as the nitrosolysis reagents to produce TADNSIW (tetraacetyldinitrosohexaazaisowurtzitane), with the yield of 82.6 %. TADNSIW was separated and purified, and its structure was determined by FT-IR, MS, ~1HNMR and element analysis. Benzaldehyde was separated quantitatively as a by-product. The debenzylation reaction was monitored through measuring the concentration of benzaldehyde, which could testify the mechanism of the nitrosolysis-debenzylation reaction mechanism put forward here.
