MEGA-Structures for the Rehabilitation of a Hazardous Waste Landfill

In the Swiss Midlands the hazardous waste landfill near the town of Koelliken is required to be removed and completely rehabilitated. The excavation process for the 320 000 tons of waste will be facilitated through three huge steel structures covered by building envelopes to ensure that no pollution affects the surrounding environment. All the building envelopes are to be sealed so that no inside-air is released to the outside before being be treated by active charcoal filters.
